ANIMALS

    1. VET. Dr. Macintosh of Moses Lake brings his mobile service to Almira on Wednesday afternoons between 1:30 and 3:00pm, located on the North Side of City Hall.

    2. DOGS. License fee is $5.00 annually. Licenses are issued inside City Hall, with proof of rabies vaccination. Dogs are prohibited to run freely, and no dogs are allowed at the City or Lions Club parks. Pit Bull breeds and Wolf dog hybrid are prohibited period.

    3. HOUSE PETS. Permitted examples are cats, rabbits, goldfish, turtles, hamsters.

    4. FARM ANIMALS. Including but not limited to: cows, horses, mules, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens are permitted in the outlying, designated areas.

    5. SWINE. Are prohibited period.

BUILDING PERMITS -

Obtained at City Hall and approved by local inspector. (BRING PLANS AND LOT LAYOUT WITH PAYMENT) ---- Necessary setbacks are in the local zoning ordinance ----
  1. There is a fine of $50.00 for building without a permit.
  2. Flat Fee Schedule:
      Mobile Homes 50.00*
      Modular Homes 100.00*
      Fence over 6' high 20.00
      Kitchen Cabinets with plumbing or fixtures 20.00
      Heating and A/C 10.00**

  3. No Fee - storm windows and storm doors without structural change; kitchen wall cabinet and kitchen floor cabinets w/o plumbing or fixtures; State Fee only - demolition.
  4. Building, remodeling, and swimming pools are all based on value or per square foot.
  5. Electrical permit forms are also available at City Hall and approved by L&I inspector.
  6. Plumbing permits are available at City Hall and approved by local inspector.
  7. Mobile Home permits are available at City Hall and installation is approved by local inspector.

*New homes are also subject to water and sewer hookup fees and to be done under the supervision of the City Superintendent; plus costs to run lines from a main line and to replace any pavement disturbed during any project.

**Subject to "Unit Fee" schedule of the Uniform Mechanical Code.

BURNING

Burning barrels are not allowed. There are 2 open burning periods available each year:
only as long as there is no other burning bans in place:

April 19th - May 3rd and
October 15th - October 31st.

Burning guidelines are listed, and a copy of this Ordinance is posted in the window at City Hall.

WINTER REGULATIONS AND ADVISORIES

    Parking in street is prohibited. If cars are left parked in the street, the snow plow will only make one pass on that side of the street.

    Alley must remain to be kept at 20' width.

    Snowmobiles are permitted only on arterials, at a slow speed, and only to get in and out of Town. Arterial maps are available at City Hall.

    Leaving faucets turned on during low temperatures can help avoid frozen pipes.
